    300TDI Engine Power Issue

    Hi All,

My Landy 300tdi 97 Auto 260,000km is having engine issues. Start, idle are normal smooth as no missing, but when I try to accelerate say around 1300rpm - 2800rpm it just misses all over the place blackie blue smoke from exhaust sounds like its running on two cylinders, then if you hold it flat and get it over 2800rpm approx. it will start to run normal again revving out to red line.

I've owned her since 120,000km and I've never touched the injectors, does this sound like an injector problem?

Update replaced timing belt with new one. Now it wont even idle at this point sat there scratching my head doubting myself, did I time it right, did I put something in wrong? After thinking about it over lunch, I thought water in the fuel is the last thing it could be, so cracked the water catcher on my fuel filter and drained it into a bowl no water!!! But the colour was wrong gave it a smell and it wasn't diesel, it was petrol!!! The missus or the mother inlaw had topped it up from empty with about twenty litres of petrol. Spent many hours draining flushing and cleaning. And now it is going again.

Does anyone know if I'm going to have any long term issues, I believe it would have driven between 15-20km not running very well as the diesel to fuel ratio got higher and higher until it wouldn't start on the petrol?
