over filled, badly bled, suction side of the pump venturi-ing air in on a supply hose fitting pump sucking air in past the shaft seal.
My power steering is leaking fluid out the overflow is it sits.
Well I think it is blowing out then slowly dripping down the chassis after shifting the car.
What might cause the fluid reservoir to pressurize and blow fluid out the breather?
Thanks in advance
SKiboy

when Im bench testing I start putting hyradulic oil die on the seals that I suspect to be venturing and watch the oil colour.
of course it helps to have access to a wide variety of non dyed oils to begin with.

Reservoir practically empty when I looked at it sat and shifted the truck - was full last time I looked - and a heap now on the tray below the bottle
Not leaking anywhere else except the overflow from the bottle (unusual I know but this is a new system so all new hoses etc in this build)
And steering is very heavy like the power steering not working properly - ie full of air
So experts does this mean new pump time or is it rebuild-able (and where/how?)?
Pump looks to be an Eaton pump on a 3.5 v8 motor

Could it be that the filter in the reservoir is blocked?
The old tin jobs have a replacable filter but the plastic reservoirs have to be replaced.
Assume this is an old tin job. Why not try a new filter.
