    Stale Fuel

Does Diesel go stale like petrol? I still have half a jerry can left over from last years shortage. I would probably stick it in my tdi rather than my Td5.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

No generally not, diesel can be stored for years, however I would still check colour, any floaties and if any water has gotten into it.

It is in a plastic jerry so it should be clean, but just in case I will put it in the TDi. I am sure it would be far more forgiving than the Td5 if there is anything wrong with it.

Plastic jerry should be fine. If you are unsure just use a funnel with a filter or put a stocking over the jerry can spout.

So, er... all that three year old diesel I have sitting in some old fuel tanks in the shed should be alright? I was thinking I would have to chuck it...

It would be good to use it, though. There's at least a tank of fuel there.
