For diesel to explode doesn't it have to be under pressure...? Even if the contacts were hot enough to literally boil the fuel (I don't think that's even possible), and get the vapour to a temperature and pressure at where it would flash, that is just beyond me! Surely the breathers would let out any built up pressure, how on earth does that even happen with diesel? Petrol I could see a possibility, but wow, I'm intrigued!
