    Hi Tough - Maxi axles

How can you tell if your vehicle has these ?
Do Hi Tough still stamp MD on the ends? I have a Defender with a few gaps in its service history, it has MD inner front axles & either new or new MD rear axles, but the rear axles have no marks.

    Thanks, David

I've got front and rear maxi drive lockers. Both came as kits with the axles.

The front is pre 'Hi Tough' and the axle flanges have MD stamped on them.
The rear is post 'Hi Tough' and the axle flanges have no markings on them.

I assume the axles have similar identification markings as the flanges.

I believe my HTE front axles have "HTE..." stamped on them.

My rear maxi drive axle has 'H' on the end of it. It is definitely an MD as it is an MD locker (so the longer one is a different shape to standard).
