I'm quite happy rolling around on 32's but sometimes forget about the inacurate speedo, is it possible to correct by changing the drive gear in t/case ?

You can, and pretty easy to do. With an LT230 t's only the plastic gear you need to mess with as the steel drive gear on the output shaft is the same in all variants. AFAIK.
Gear colour indicates how many teeth. Think there is a post around somewhere with a complete list of them.
You just need to work out or check what colour gear is in there now and calculate how many teeth you need for correction to select the appropriate colour to fit.
Changing just involves removing the transducer (or gear carrier if you have speedo cable) from the output housing and swapping the gear.
2 min job if the t/case is on the bench, but is more fiddly in the vehicle.
