Thread: Warn Winch brake spring

I have an old Tabor 9k Winch that I am servicing and have hit a snag that I can not find the answer to on the Net or on any instructions.


When I removed the brake springs and they seem to have had a layer of old grease on them. See attached photo


Got it all cleaned up and ready to reassemble but not to sure about putting grease on a brake ?? - and the instructions that I can find don't say anything


Can anyone advise on whether the springs should be greased or not??
