    Auto Box

Hi, I know this is a very long shot but is anyone aware of a auto box that would bolt onto the 3.9 Isuzu motor. Would really like to pick-up ex army rover at current auctions but lost right leg 18 months ago and am now an auto man. Got very lucky and was able to bolt Disco box onto my current Defender but would like to get an old GS wagon if possible.

Would be interested to know as well..... either way I don't think it would create too many problems to adapt, I would reckon there a few AULRO members over your way that would be able to help.....

might be easier and less costly to get the clutch operated off a lever on the gearstick.

I used a V8 RRC ZF 4hp22 behind mine, was an excellent idea if you like replacing transmissions every 10,000km, or less. after the 3rd one I went to LT95 manual and that is where it still is.

Unfortunately it was soooo nice to drive, just too weak for the torque of a turbo 4BD1....

There's your problem, if a TD5 can kill one I think a 4BD1 would kill it if were stored in the same room for too long. Just for ****s and giggles you should try a ZF4hp24 and see if you can get 20000km's

remote mounting a clutch lever to the gearstick sounds simpler

yes that was on the table for a bit, but really needed to use the electronic version with a stand alone computer to keep the pressures up and keep it in tc lock as much as possible. too much $$$ i decided in the end.

As it is a light truck engine, how about a light truck auto like an Allison 1000 box?
