    Identifying timing cover

    Hey Aulro,

I have acquired an off road buggy in which has a 3.9 rover engine.

Trying to identify which timing cover case this is, I am told by the previous owner that it could quite possibly be from a Saloon? (or something like that)

It has an oil pump from a forward control 101, a standard Disco style wont fit due to the oil filter would get mashed by the front yoke. One of the bolt holes that the oil pump bolts up to needs to be plugged and re tapped, but if I can identify which timing cover it is and if I can find one local to Newcastle, it would be nice to start with a fresh one (Helicoils on all the other bolt holes).

Appreciate if anyone could lend some advice.
    Cheers.

From Des Hammill's book page 59, it is an SD1 timing cover with as you say a different oil pump.
You can look at the book on line "How to Power Tune Rover V8 Engines"
