Thread: TD5 fuel pump keeps popping out of tank

Hi all,

My D2's new fuel pump has popped out of the tank for a 2nd time now in 3 months. I have tried changing the seal to reduce tension on the locking ring but it keeps happening. Has anyone tried anything different or had similar problems?

one of the pump frames is slightly longer than the other.

if you have the deefer one in a disco and there is any flaw with the ring or the thread on the neck this will happen to you... ditto if the bottom of the tank is bent.

Id start by doing a complete remove and closely inspecting the threads on the neck and the ring. If its ever been cross threaded then its likely both are toast.
