You know I'm old enough to remember the same comments when halogen lights became the norm..... Now we say that halogen is dim enough not to blind us......

During the next 3-5 years EVERY new vehicle on our roads will have either HID or LED lighting (or a combination) and by EVERY vehicle I also include buses and trucks. Simple matter is they are more efficient and give better vision.
There does seem to be a distinct difference to the hid's fitted/designed by manufacturers from factory to the ones that are coming off the shelf for an aftermarket upgrade. Manufacturers design them so as to not impact oncoming drivers; aftermarket or their installers don't know/ don't care/ don't realise about the impact on oncoming drivers.

May sound silly but have you got the high beams on? Or are they negatively switched? Just a thought

Irizar are putting fancy LED daylight running lights on their busses... so bright in daylight they're almost painful. Very distracting...

Yes, more efficient regarding wattage/output. NOT always better vision, but great marketing potential...

    Totally agree.

Most higher spec new cars have HIDs get over it move over and get out of the way.

I get blinded more by misaligned 100w Halogens than I do HIDs.

If you listen to some people on here we should still have acetylene lamps.

Saw an article in yesterdays Herald Sun.... BMW are researching LASER headlights and expect to have them in cars within 5 years.

Pretty clever stuff by the looks of it. The laser will run through a phosphorous filter thus making a very clean white light and a computer management system will block out certain parts of the road ahead so as not to dazzle oncoming drivers.

Don't think this will be available as an aftermarket upgrade lol.... and you'll probably need to mortgage your house for a set.
