2003 td5 defender 130 kms
I'm looking to buy the above vehicle which has 77,000 km on the clock.
The car is a bit rough around the edges and the kms seem low for how the car presents. No major oil leaks or anything but just looks a bit worn
My question is since one of the previous owners was an auto electrician is it possible to have doctored the speedo Kms ?
Has all new springs and shocks (ome) and new heavy duty axles so what is a fair price ?
It's a tray back no bullbar or snorkel
Thanks in advance

Its possible the Klm have all been farm travel. I would be looking for any paperwork to validate the low klm- local garage repair work for example. I would think the tyres should be the second set & reasonable nick. Perhaps the ECU might give engine hours? I would think around the 10k mark if genuine.

If the steering wheel is very worn, and the driver's seat is sagging then it might indicate that it's have more usage, also check the pedal rubbers.
I noticed only today on ebay someone is offering s speedo fixing service, since speedo's dont break that easy if made me suspicious of this seller.
Check the service manual and check serve dates and kms match up. Check tyres they may still be original land rover issue
As said before it could be a farm truck
