Are you replacing the camshaft because it's Worn?
If I were you I wouldn't put a new cam onto old lifters, seen it a few times where either has worn out the other because worn components were used with new.
Hey happy new year everyone
I'm about to replace my camshaft on my V8 4.0 and I'm considering replacing my camshaft with a piper 270 stage 2 rather then standard.
Does anyone know know if I need to upgrade anything other parts such as ECU, valve springs etc?
Any advice would be much appreciated...

No my plan is to replace new camshaft , lifters and cam bearings but I need parts ASAP any ideas ??
Also to add, the bearing shell is currently resting on the lifter and wer the lifter contacts to the camshaft so I'm guessing the cam has maybe sustained damage? I would prefer a new cam as 130000km it is showing signs of wear upon inspection ? Replace will engine is pulled down wats your thoughts??
From the research I did when choosing my new one,
the standard cam is very well suited to its application(low down torque)
all aftermarket cams raise the max torque above 2600rpm.
a piper 270 stage two should go quite well on the highway,
the performance difference should be noticable!
