crew cab or 5 door? Then do a search on the defender pages for either red dot or a system fitted in the rear. some of the ex minibus roof systems fit well in the 5 door.
I have a 1995 130 defender with no A/C and I want to put A/C just winding if any one has done this. would like to know a rough cost and and what I need and any others info that I should know. thanks Defenderlad

There are a lot of 'universal' AC kits that you can get for retrofitting AC. I have one like this Underdash Type AIR CON Evaporator Suits Mini BUS VAN Small Truck BIG Sedan Wagon | eBay and when it was connected it worked well (I had to disconnect it, and am redoing the wiring). May not be the best setup for a dual cab though as it is mounted on the roof at the rear of my 110 wagon:
The Red dot ones are mounted on the roof, with the bulk of the unit above the roof - this may suit you more. (but they cost more IIRC).
You will also need a compressor, drier and other bits and pieces... I'd speak to an auto electrician as you will need them to gas it up.
I've seen tdi factory AC advertised for around $1500 (removed from a wreck) but then you loose your passenger footwell and they are not known for being great units.
