    Wink Long range fuel tank ??

    Hey guys I'm buying my first Land Rover 90 on Saturday, 2010 model only deposit put down, it has a long range fuel tank fitted already the Dealer (not LR) Dealer said that the extras ie: winch, snorkel, long range fuel tank and UHF radio was fitted by Land Rover from new? My question is... do Land Rover install these extras and what would I need to check regards to the fuel tank certs may be ??
    any help would be much appreciated.

    More likely the dealer sent it to ARB or similar for a pre delivery installation.

    If you are referring to engineering approval, then yes, it should have it. There is some confusion around the recent update as it infers that fuel tanks have always been considered a 'major modification' and as such require approval but to my knowledge they have not been listed in previous updates.

    tl;dr Look for a blue mod plate (if you are in NSW, not sure about other states) and if there isn't one there ask the dealer to commit to having it engineered if they can not provide the appropriate paperwork.

    Won't need a mod plate, doesn't fall under a Certified modification.

    And tanks only need be constructed in line with engineering practice.

    In this case it's only a tank, is fitted to the vehicle and likely one if these: Long Ranger. LRA, Brown Davis or Dolium.

    All will be built correctly and suitable.
