    12v accessories wiring - Puma

Is it ok to wire accessories directly onto both cranking battery terminals on a late model defender (Puma)

I'm going to install a dual battery system soon but in the meantime, I want some power run through to my canopy. Is it ok to run (fused) accessories off both terminals or is it wise to use a earth elsewhere?

I've heard that some late model Land Rovers don't like wiring attached directly to the -ve terminal on the cranker. Something to do with the ECU?!

Any advise greatly appreciated - heading off camping tomorrow

    Hi,
mine is all directly off the cranking battery (Both terminals) but via one of Traxide's SC80 dual battery relays.
Thus they only get power when the starter battery is up to voltage, or when the slide on camper is connected with its deep cycle battery.

This gives me the best of both worlds.

    cheers

Thanks, glad to know it works ok. Just confirming that your vehicle is a puma?

EDIT: Sorted now, just my first time messing with 12v. Just playing it safe.
