Alternate standard rims for '95 Classic?

Question:- What other rims, Disco 1? or Defender? or ??? will fit the '95 Classic.

I've got a pair of newish COOPER ATR 235/70R156s but really don't want to fit them to my standard RR alloys (three-spoke thingies) as I'm looking at buying a full set of a differant size in the near future.

But, eldest son (he who continually rubbishes Range Rovers, especially mine) is "borrowing" it at the moment, and is worried about the balding rear tyres.- He's booked it in for Saturday to have them fitted... for $40. each...

At that price for F&B, I'd rather put them on steel rims and use them as play tyres, saving my 4 alloys for complete set of new and better tyres

PS, I've got plenty of steel nuts, so alloy or steel is fine. Just need to know what can go on.

Any wheel that bolts onto a Defender , Disco I or Range Rover Classic will fit.

In addition to Big Jon's comment. The disco 1 rims (5 spoke alloys) are exactly the same width, diameter, offset etc. Basically only the spoke design differs between the 3 spoke and 5 spoke rims fitted to disco 1 and all RRC's.
These are all 33mm offset if you need to check.
The disco 1 and very early RRC steel wheels are narrower (6"?) than the RRC and D1 alloys.

Some of the defender steels have a different offset. But I can't see you looking at those anyway.

$40 each fitting and balancing is bollocks.

My local kmart T&A charge $15 F&B and the one near work charge $12.50 F&B - $40 is a con UNLESS it includes disposal of old tyre.

Thought I had a win this morning...: - D found a FREE set of '95 Range Rover alloys... Pity they're for P38, which was'nt mentioned in the advert.

Yep, last F&B I priced was $25 with tyre disposal, - Ranges from $5 to $10 per tyre. But that was a year or so ago...

    Bollocks sums it up nicely!

I'm happy with a pair of steels or whatever, as long as I can get a matching pair later on.- I'll keep them for the Coopers and (eventually) put the better-brand high-profile 205 or 215 etc on my original 3-spoke domes. - They're remarkably cheaper than 235-245/70 sizes...

But #1 son is adamant that he's happy to pay the $80 (and play on the beach...)

Funny, the derogatory comments about my sanity, choice of lemon-car, how stupid the RR is, bad design etc etc, seem to have dried up recently...
Perhaps something to do with being waved at by Deefer and Series drivers, and the grudging admission that the driving of it is growing on him...

And he's suddenly become pro-active around the yard...and 'concerned' about the Lady Sarah's mechanical condition.

Edit:- Just rang SA... they tell me that the Disco 1 5-spoke rims were standard for the US market.... Must agree that they look nicer...

    Rims

Deep dish alloys off D1 (97 on) and correct nuts look really nice on RRC.
