    If your mate can wire in an after market gauge saas, vdo or simaler would be a good idea as td5 temp gauge nortorisaly bad.

    Can't argue with that. Mine went from rock steady halfway to in the red in seconds. God knows what it was REALLY doing. Blown head gasket. More than $3000 about four years ago.
    There are good, cheap and east to install gauges and alarms out there. GREAT idea. You get a warning when things START to go wrong, not after they have.
