I assume you have done a basic check of oil and water levels?

Are they ok to start with?

Have you run it out of oil or water?

Checked all that regularly goes through a heap of oil but very little leaks, the knock and loss of power has only been very very slight up until a few days since then I haven't drove it

Using oil with no leaks is a good indication that the rings were stuffed, and it was probably burning the oil. You could check that by looking at the spark plugs, they'll be covered in black oil.

The other noises, along with loss in power, are much worse and could indicate problems in the valve train or the cylinders. You could strip it down and work out what the problem is, but seeing as it's already reasonably certain that the rings are stuffed anyway, you'd best start budgeting for a replacement engine. Options are wreckers, which will be cheaper but could have similar problems and wear already, or a reco engine, which will set you back more, but will be in good nick.
