    Wheel nut identification

With the D3 wheels that I bought last weekend, the owner also gave me a set of 20 wheel nuts that I'm struggling to identify. The wheels were advertised as suiting D2/P38a (even though they are definitely d3/RRS wheels), so I had expected the nuts to fit a D2/P38a, but from what Google has dredged up so far, they are different. My measurements are as follows:

    Overall Length 45mm
    Barrel width 22mm
Length from Washer to base 19mm
    22mm hex
    M14 x 1.5

They look very similar to a D3 nut, close, but not quite.

Can anyone ID them for me?

Thanks Guy, but they aren't D1, the D1/RRC are M16 x 1.5 and these are marked as M14 x 1.5 (and fit on the stud, just not quite in the hole in the wheel), plus the D1s are 27mm hex, where these are 22mm.

    Stainless cap or not?

Those nuts you show do not appear to have a stainless steel cap on them.

They instead look like something Gorilla sells on eBay per the link below.

The dimensions in the sketch provided in the Gorilla material appear similar to what you have measured.

    Well that's the mystery solved.

I bought myself a new set of digital calipers today, to replace the ones that are in the shed "somewhere"

I measured both the nut pictured, and an OE one freshly removed from the D3, and found that all measurements were actually just about identical (apart from a 0.07mm difference in length), so I retried fitting the new one but it still wouldn't fit. However, a close examination revealed a small chunk of aluminium stuck to the shank of the nut. 2 mins with some wet and dry and now fits beautifully.

Just to prove that Murphy's Law is well and truly alive, the other 19 nuts fitted perfectly.

They are definitely aftermarket ones, they seem to have a stainless head rather than just the flimsy cover that LR provide.

Thanks to all who provided some advice.
