Bendy question

On a series landy, what is more likely to bend?

the stub axle
or
the differential tube
or
the ball tube

|--------/

i have a front end that looks a little like the above from the front (not quite as bad) and am perplexed as to where the bendy bit would be.

not to mention bemused as to how the hell it got that way....

i figure if it was the stub axle that was the culprit the brake drum would rub on the backing plate, no sign of that tho, correct asumption?

that only leaves the diff tube or the ball tube i figure...

i could use a machined straight edge on each end of the axle tube flange and measure top to bottom and front to back to see if it is the axle tube i figure but have no idea how much thay are out as a genral rule anyway..

any insight appreciated....

Gday incisor - is that bend :

A: toeing out badly

or

B: in at the bottom and out at the top.

if its toeing out badly it is probably a bent track rod.

thats about all i can give ya at this stage

sorry

Hi Incsor
I would go with Mick on the wheel alignment being out.Have a look in the green bible,it is a job you dont need to go to a tyre shop for.
All the best

i considered the alignment and did the old string line trick and got it lined up to within specs.

the wheel "appeared" to be leaning significantly in at the bottom and out at the top.

the vehicle squeeled the tyre badly doing a hard right hand turn but not when turning hard left

it steered very well in a straight line with very little wander.

i removed the whole diff a while back and fitted a series iii front diff but want to fix the thing and put it back in to get it back to original but it has me beat exactly what is bent
