Cleaning out a Disco 1 300TDi fuel tank.

I have a plastic 300TDi fuel tank to replace the leaking one in my 94 Disco 1, was wondering what to use to dissolve old diesel and associated crud. Being plastic I would imagine there would be products out there that may do harm, some degreasers/thinners, etc.
Has anyone some advice as what to use that will not cause harm to the tank, Thanks, Regards Frank.

I have used Prepsol before with great results. gets rid of oily/gooey residue fast.

Also Named wax & grease remover. can buy it pretty cheap @ supercheap etc.

first off I used a litre bottle of Chemtech engine & bilge degreaser, just poured it in swirled around a bit, jammed the pressure cleaner in at different angles an done that for 5-10 min.

flush out with water for 10 min then empty it, blow dry with air hose till its fairly dry. After that I then tipped in the 5L can of wax & grease remover & swirled around/blew around with air, emptied out, blew as dry as I could get it & left it to completely dry.

wax an grease remover evaporates quick so doesnt take long

    * Chemtech Engine & Bilge cleaner comes packaged in similar plastic so you could even do a soak for a while.
