It seems that they have been discontinued for the time being, spoke to receptionist at Ashcroft, they take ages to make, so im assuming unless they get a ton of interest or they hire the staff that they need, i think they have become another Maxidrive portal (rare as hens teeth).

Ok whats the next best off the shelf diff option for an ABS Range Rover Classic with 500+ hp

Any suggestions? It would be hard to beat the Force 9 spec wise and its bolt in nature.

yes like I said they are good, But if I were in line to buy them I would #1, get a full quote, do the conversion into AU$ and allow/figure the customs/paper work fees. Get an accurate $$$ for them to your door. That would be my starting price.

The Ford 9 inch has so many aftermarket options to built strong its not funny. I would look for Drag/race, diff builders as there are many in Oz. If you could supply them with a front and rear bare housing (Rover) Im sure they could quote you a price. Pic up "Dirt Comp" at you local news agent and look through the ads in there as well.

We are currently investigating this option as it looks like they may do landrover as you say and no doubt can be supplied with paperwork to help with engineering, will be interesting to get front/rear landed prices

When the salsbury is shaved, what is the exact loss of ground clearance compared to the standard rover pumpkin? And is this the same for the front?

It is alright to say 1.5"axles but what do you do on the out board end .A ford 28 spline or salisbury axle is the largest that will pass thru the swivel ball or stub axle A 31 spline ford spline will fit thru the ball with some lathe work but the stub axle on the rear requires a new one of better material with a larger bore.You could replace with stubs and hubs off some thing bigger but all the time you are increasing the unsprung weight which is not ideal.The constant velocity joints in the front will be the limiting factor .There is some pics on here of my 9" diffs if interested

What about New stub axle but machine the hub for new bearings? I think that's what rovertracks did for the 35 spline sals upgrade.

The rear is no problem from what i understand, but what is the most common front upgrade from a standard sals?

And ive heard Hi Tough can supply the 35spline axles..

As AM said, its not the diff thats the problem, its the axle shafts and CVs. I guess it depends on what you want.

from my stand point, id also rather a fabricated housing over a cast centre and tubes aka Sals/Dana 60 etc.

Are Ashcorft CVs strong enough for you? Ot maybe some Toy 30 spline? what ever you can fit inside a swivel ball...

If you dont stay with the LR wheels, then there are heaps of options via the USA and its aftermarket. You could go a 609 hybrid, which is a Ford 9 centre with Dana 60 outers.
