they turned independent suspension into beam axle keeping all the same parts. personally I would go for portals as there is more ground clearance

There isnt any normal 4x4 that would be easy to mount them under at a resonable height that would not require major major work. The same work could produce something better. And any custom buggy etc can be built better with other types of axles.
Actually they're a bolt in for jeeps (of course), options for new chassis mounts for longer arms, redesigned sump to get even more up travel. The CV's and shafts are the same as used for most premium buggy/truck trans axle applications. You'd be hard pressed to break them as they're landed on for great heights full tilt.
How are they "complex" live axles? There's a centre, axles and CV's. The cover comes off the back so you don not need to pull anything to change axles/CV's. And the cover isn't structural so there's an indication of how well they're built.
I'm not saying I like them, just that most portals do not like extended highway use at 80+ km/h. Those things don't have reduction gears to generate heat.Quote:

Bolt in? where do the coil springs land? How is normal ride height maintained, or up travel with that high centre section? Seriously I can not see them bolting in with out other mods.Quote:
