Hi everyone, not sure if I'm in the right section but I'm stumped. A mechanic of mine mucked around with my '81 stage 1 v8 wiring and ever since the charge light is on when the ignition is off.

I narrowed the problem down to the second separate wiring on the back of the alternator. They told me that they moved a connector but not which one.

Can anyone tell me what this wire is there for? And where does it go to?

As an aside, I have replaced the voltage regulator which had blown previously so it's not that.

This is why I hate mechanics fiddling when they don't know what they're doing
