what about my idle problem ?
Hi Discowhite
Yes the idle does become very erratic when stopped at intersections etc. if the transducer is faulty, I originally forgot to mention this in my first post and tried to remedy the problem with another post but havn't been able to get any through.

The more I read about fuel injected V8's the less inclined I become to put one in my County. I think the 3.9 sitting in my garage will become a carbed engine when I fit it. The thought of being stuck on a beach or in the scrub with a fuel injection problem just doesn't appeal at all.
Granted that when everything is ok it is hard to go past injection, however at least with a carb set up it is a much simpler system that in most cases I can usually solve the problem.
6 grand is quick for a bendt 8. Though there are bendt engines that turn faster than that. New Holden v6 does 7.
Absolutely....the more basic the vehicle the more chance you have to keep it running. With Carby, if the fuel pump fails you can gravity feed it with a drum strapped into the roof rack and bit of fuel hose to reach.
I think you should just bite the bullet maggsie and go with the injection,,
the advantages of injection outweigh the problems,,,

I think you'll find that the new Holden V6 cuts out higher than that. It's all in the stroke.
Mine has an erratic idle at rest and I've been told that the stepper motor is playing up. That's fine but I haven't taken it apart and cleaned it up because I'm not that confident with messing with it yet.
