if you get the generic rubber hose that most places sell you'll need them to stop it from weeping past.
its one of those metric vs imperial near enough problems. yes the metric size fits over but its an imperial size and the metric size is just bigger enough to be a "contact" seal with almost no squeeze value.
you'll also find that you might get supplied vac hose which while it works goes hard very quickly and engine vibrations will work it loose around the bulge of the barb and then it will leak, looking almost like a rocker cover leak.
Zip ties work as well but dont look anywhere near agricultural enough for the job.![]()

Fuel line from the local mower shop does the trick. Not sure if it's metric or imperial but works great with no clamps. I still carry a spare bit anyway!
And a idea if you're ever stuck. Mine broke a little ways back, a long way from home, late at night, and I had no spare. So I drove 2 kms to a shopping center whilst I could see the gauge dropping. Then I bought a fish tank service kit and fitted some new hose!
Lasted for a few weeks but I thought I'd better change it before it melts!
it goes brittle with heat and diesel...
get extra if you go on a long trip or have any concievable reason you might be taking off the rocker cover while you are unable to just pop down the road on your push bike.
in a pinch the air line from an aquarium will get you betwenn 1 and 5 K Km.

I lost 70 litres of diesel in 30 km because i used vacuum line and no clamps. That was an expensive quick fix for sure.
