    235/85/16 nexen roadian mt
    Noisey on bitumen but seem to be wearing ok

    I run telstra tyres Dunlop road gripper f not exactly a mud tyre but work well and last well

    Yeah but don't tell my ute that. There a good tyre but only the f. There's an s model and its junk you won't find much in the 750/16 range that's a mud tyre

    7.50-16 Road Grippers are fitted to 75 or 76 Series Cruisers, but 4wd Hiluxes have them in 205R16, which are much better suited for an LJ in overall diameter and the fact they fit better on the 4.5" rims. Anything larger than 205's and you'd really be looking to fit 16x7 rims from a Grand Vitara, or aftermarket.

    Yes I know you have 16 inch rims (you even hint at it in the thread title!), that's why I suggested 205R16 tyres!


    But LJ and Sierra 16" rims are only 4.5 inches wide, and some tyre fitters won't fit 7.50s to those rims, and you can forget about fitting 235's. By fitting 16x7 rims from a GV (either steel or alloy), you open up a far wider range of tyre fitments, both in width and diameter, and tread patterns.
