    Why is my SC80 flashing

My setup has been giving me the ****s of late........right when I'm about to go camping for two weeks

First I thought my SC80 was dying......seem to right itself after I fixed the earth, all good for a few weeks til the last few days where the light would be flashing in the morning......drove 40min home from work yesterday and the light starting flashing as soon as I turned off the car......actually what brought my attention to it was a clicking noise. It would flash three or four time and go solid hand flash again than solid......after 20 sec or so it stayed flashing til this morning

I was about to go out and purchase a new start battery and install it along with a new aux battery

    Volts this morning

    12.53 start
12.61 aux (at the Anderson plug at the rear of the car, couldn't be arsed accessing the battery)

I assume the light on the SC80 should be solid....not flashing

What should I be checking? Or

Leave it as it's disconnecting and connecting when I start/stop the truck

Is your aux battery a standard lead acid???
If so check the electrolyte levels. If its out of the way and seldom checked it may be low.Low levels = a battery that wont store much energy.
Cheaper than buying a new battery.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi Kevin, and send the the SC80 and I’ll check it out and see if it’s the problem.

With those battery voltages, the SC80’s LED should be on constant.

So it does sound like it’s the SC80.

I'm going to moreton for Monday week for two weeks.......not sure there is enough turn around time

It just appears I am unable to use the spare capacity in the start battery
