New problem
Driving into town Me Disco was burbling along quite happily.
Then when I put my foot on the brake it was hard, nothing happening. All of a sudden the brakes worked as normal but with repeated use of the brakes entering into shopping centre car park the engine started to run rough. The revs went down and the thing didn't want to keep running.
Hit the starter and it started okay but problems continued.
What the...
At home today I looked under the bonnet and all looked normal, it started and ran okay, revved up okay. Tested brakes while it was running and seemed normal with peddle pressure and vacuum hiss etc.
So I took it for a drive around the block, ran normal but when I put my foot on the brake, nothing for a few seconds and then worked.
I brought it home and stuck it back in the shed so's I could have a think about it.
Does it sound like the brake booster is on the way out ?
Could it be the MAF buggering up ?
Bit stumped at the moment. I think it is something small happening rather than a major fault.
What do you reckon !!!

[QUOTE=67hardtop;2123904] Check the vacuum check valve is still working.
Right thanks.
How do I do that ?
I do think the servo booster is the problem but wasn't sure as the booster was replaced last june with one from Britparts. Would of thought it would last longer.
If it needs replacing again I will get one from Mr Automotive. Got some bits from him the other day, good service.

Could be a break or split in a vacuum pipe - if it's flexing, could be intermittent like that and would explain the rough running.

remove the valve, u should b able to blow through it one way and not suck through it the same way. if u can blow and suck the same side of the valve then its stuffed. also check that the hose hasn't collapsed internally. Cheers Rod
