Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
So I checked the fuel filter and all was good. Headed off to Melb and every time I pulled up it stalled out. Fuel pump was whirring its head off. Out of frustration I called a few dealers on the way down to see if they could fit me in to get it sorted out. Nope was the same answer all around. I had taken a tool box with me and was quite able to do the job, just not motivated. Rang a dealer and asked if they had the washers and O rings for the injectors. They said they did. I asked to be put through to the service dept and asked them if they could do the job. The tech in the dept started self promoting about how it would take ages to do the job and proceeded to tell me that it wasn't a simple job etc etc. I probably should have told him I am a mechanic, just on holidays and couldn't be bothered. Anyway, he couldn't do the job either. I paid way too much for the washers and o rings but had no choice.
Drove to Melb and went to my brothers place. Parked in his garage and set about doing the job, not sure if it would fix it just hoping like mad. First injector and everything looked fine. Numbers 2-5 were pin holed slightly to the side of the pintle. Put it all back together and ran it, purrs like a kitten. So a big thank you to GregD2 as I would not have looked there in a million years. I have attached a photo to show what I found. Hope this helps others.
Regards again.
