No it makes no difference. Any locker can basically be used with any ratio
Hi. This is a general question. Does the diff C/P ratio have any bearing on a locker like Detroit, e-locker etc. For example say I have the standard 3.54 Defender diff ratio with a Detroit locker and I want to change to say a 4.11 ratio. Does the locker still fit or does it need to be swapped for a different one.
I am not in any situation where this applies as it is something I have thought about for the future. Hope this is explained enough to make sense.
Thanks.

Straight answer. Thanks.
Certainly detroits have different models numbers for different landie sals diffs. My 101 Detroit has different model number to that for a Defender sals - the 101 Detroit is about $100 cheaper than the Defender version.
How that equates to real life fitmet I am not sure.

Looking at the ARB guide, rover diffs vary only by axle halfshaft spline count. Salisbury diffs have a different hemisphere between the 4.7 and the 3.54 which I assume is the crownwheel flange offset.

Previous posters have only given you half the answer...
If you have a locker which replaces the entire diff centre (= most lockers) then you need to consider:
Rover diffs: 3.54 and 4.7 ratios have a different flange position (i.e. most lockers are 3.54 type and need a spacer ring under the crownwheel to fit a 4.7 diff). Most aftermarket parts are made to fit the 3.54 centre.
Salisbury diffs: There is a flange position change between 4.3:1 and 4.56:1 ratios. Spacer rings are uncommon for Sals (Dana 60) type lockers so you need to buy the right one.
"Lunchbox Lockers": this type replaces the diff centre internals. This type of locker is not available for rover AFAIK (only salisbury) - the locker is unaffected by ratio.
