    LR Disco 2 problem?

    Just broke down today, auto gearbox will not engage gears. LR idles and revs but does not move when engaged. Anybody had this before and know what it could be? No warning lights came on the dash... Thanks

    If the "park" position still holds the vehicle from rolling away its a failure of the transmission, if "park" doesn't hold then its a failure of the transfer case or a drive shaft. Have you checked the hi-lo transfer case lever is engaged either way? If your vehicle has a centre diff lock and you engage it, does it drive then?

    Thanks. I am new to this vehicle, when you say hi low engaged do you mean the 4wd lever? I think it was in the low position when it stopped and has been for some time. Not sure about the park position holding or not, will find out tomorrow as it went straight to the garage on the back of a truck!

    Sounds like you've blown an oil cooler hose & lost all the atf. Common problem
