EF Falcon fans in to RR?

    G'day Guys,

I know there are some of you out there that have put in EL fans, but I have a set of EF fans - think they are the same???

Does anyone have any details on how they fitted them?

Do I need to trim much off?

Where do I secure them to the radiator?

    THX in advance

There was a photo of this installation on the Australian Range Rover & Discovery Forum a month or so ago.

By the way, did you ever fit those extractors you bought off me?

    G'day Ron,

Funny thing - was JUST on your website, spookey eh?

Not fitted them yet, as they were for my Defender 100", but going to install them onto my RR in a couple of weeks and get them wrapped to reduce the temp in the engine bay.

The D100 will probably get a set of Pacemakers, but that is a while off yet!!!

    Hows the P38a going?

I thought about that for my old RR too. Also have you considered the ceramic coating system that's supposed to also work? I remember that my old Mark VII Jag I had back in the mid-Sixties had enamelled exhausts - a bit like enamelled cookware or plates/mugs, but thicker.

    Hows the P38a going?
Umm, so you've heard that I've got the motor out and am fitting a new block. Blown head gaskets, possible shifted liner.
Should get the new motor in next week. It's assembled.

It's sitting on the bench waiting to be hot-tanked and checked to see if there really is a liner problem or if it is reusable.

The bores are in excellent condition (it really makes me wonder why a bloke on the Aust 4WD Monthly forum claimed that Rover V8s have a severe bore wear problem. Every one I've looked in have been remarkably good).

If there is a problem I may look at using the crank and rods in another block.

I'm wondering if it will fit a 3.5 block to give a useful increase in capacity.

Alternatively, I'll check if it is possible to fit new liners for a reaonable price.

No. my employer expected me to work on the weekend. after getting home my wife expected me to work on her new kitchen.

So I won't have the car running until about Wednesday - except I now have the funeral of a good friend to go to on that day.
