Front passenger window jamming
Hi from Perth to you all. I have a 1999 Series 1 Disco 300 TDI. Reliable beast with only 200K on the clock, but few niggling problems. One is that the front passenger side window jams and won't open. Press button down and window drops at the front by a few mm and jams. So electric window opening device operating, but I assume slides or similar worn.
Pulled off inner door skin for a look but could not figure what even to do next. Am I right in thinking it is worn slides or similar? Can the offending bits be replaced by an idiot like me and, if so, how and where do I get them?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

Hi, in my case it was the horizontal channel that held the glass to the scissor lift was rusted ...you could try spraying the bailey channels with silicon spray from any angle you can get ..Gary

Same as a Disco II?
Hi, a similar sounding problem on my II, on mine it is the little roller on the end of the scissor arm that has broken.
I haven't yet fitted a new one but I suspect it won't be a serviceable item.
We have an auto wrecker in Adelaide "U Pullit", you do the work and the low price is great.
Good luck
Mike

Hi again, if it is the scissor rollers, not sure on the d2 but on the d1 you can buy a sliding window type roller from hardware and fit these, way cheaper and got mine down to about half and hr per window ..can get the part number if needed ..Gary

Had a similar issue with my 96 tdi, found it was the little plastic roller at the end of the scissor as well. My local Landrover Specialist supplied a brass replacement so it wouldnt be repeated...
Bit of an effort to fit due to needing to cut and refit the retaining flange but well worth it to eleimiate a reoccurance.
