    300tdi Disco/RRC Radiator top bung.

    Hi Guys

I'm the proud new owner of a 300tdi RRC. It came without a bung in the top of the radiator, just an empty threaded hole. I need to fill this hole before I will know what 2,000km of driving without said bung has done to said engine.

Can anyone help me out with what the official part looks like? Thread identification would be excellent if anyone has one to measure so I can find a temporary replacement.

Should be the same as the bung in the thermostat housing.

Get one of the brass hex head replacements off ebay, they often come in pairs one for the rad and one for the thermostat housing.

Me too green with envy! Was it an import or local conversion?

Nz new 1994 soft dash and factory fitted. Will get some pics up later.

It's automatic which is a shame, coil spring with the rear load leveler. I think it's oil tight.

Go for the brass replacements. The plastic ones perish and then shear off when you try to undo them.

Or an engine alarm low coolant sender https://www.davesitshop.com/emporium...&product_id=48 in the top of the radiator. It is plastic but I wouldn't be without it after it saving my engine a couple of times. Thermostat housing definitely brass.

Can confirm. The sheared off remains of the plastic one are here. Previous owners efforts. Not mine.
