    RV8 Oil Coolers

    Do all RV8 engines have oil coolers or just older 3.5s?

    Is an oil cooler for these engines really required?

    '93 3.5 D1 - yes
    '95 3.9 D1(gone) - yes


    Certainly can't hurt to have one...

    HI,

    Certain model's had the oil cooler built into the radiator, mine is a 3.9 1998.

    I removed that and fitted an external air cooler, with a thermostatic value, keep's the retuning oil @ 80c, summer or winter, I monitor the return temp, run's well with VR1 20/50 oil.
