Take the easy way out. Traxide on here has a relay kit. Two in fact, one for headlights alone and the other for headlights plus spotties. Not overly expensive, but price is nothing compared to an indicator stalk. Every few years...

Comes with a Big Fat RELIABLE relay and detailed, yet simple instructions. If you can't follow them...then seriously, - stick to the mechanical side!

No, I don't have one of his, installed my own setup from surplus relays etc. - But then again, 'Electrics' is an area of competancy for me.

X2 with the traxide upgrade...very easy to follow and do...made a big diff and can run a bit higher wattage globes...thought mine where awesome till I fitted a hid kit to my bull lamps..thought these where great till I also fitted 2x 12" light bar :-)

I too bought Traxide relays, but did my own wiring. They are happy to sell you only what you need if you are handy with wiring. The relays are very nice, and have one for my driving lights and main lights. They are a fused twin relay - the driving lights can use one circuit per side, the main lights have one circuit for low beam and one for high. If you do your own, replace the wires right up to the plug on the lights - its incredibly tiny wiring that Land Rover used, and to think it goes through the switch too.
Before I did this, you could feel the heat coming out of the cover on the left of the steering column on a night drive. One time I drove home from SA to VIC with low beam only after the switch had s##t itself at the border after getting too hot one time too many. Never again.
