    Gawd John,,
    I have three connected in the van,, one of them is a gel! and all three are different sizes due to space.

    How long have i got?

    Depends on use, the type and size of the battery etc. You can probably say it is unpredictable. And definitely paralleling gel and flooded cell batteries is not a good idea!

    John every truck I've ever owned was always 12V system and most had 4 batteries or 2 very large batteries and I used to get 3 to 4 years service out of them, I understand what you are saying and thanks again for your advice, Regards Frank.

    so if you have a dual battery setup, its better to have a Dc-DC charger than to have a simple isolator solenoid?

    So your saying that my C-Tek DC to DC charger is no good and not capable of charging my soon to be 2x Optima yellow top batteries in my camper trailer, if that's right, in your opinion would you like to explain why, or have I read your post wrong, Regards Frank.

    He did not say it was incapable. The DC/DC charger will charge just fine.
    Oh, and you'll need an energy polariser. The type Peter Brock was selling.
