Thread: RRC wiper / starting issue ( Push button start!)

So seems i have a 1986 range rover classic with the latest push button start technology, however it is most unwanted!

After a drive the other day i have discovered my that when the stalk is pressed for front washers they no longer squirt water but engage the starter motor.

I can turn ign on then press the stalk in for washers and the car will start.
it will also try engage the starter while driving if pressed

im assuming something going on with the wiring in the column, rubbed through or similar, anyone else ever come across this??

haven;t had a chance to look at wiring as yet. hopefully get a look in this week.
