Pencil Beam & Spread Beam combinations

As you know I've been researching a new set of driving lights and have finally settled on a set of LF 240 XGT.

However, I always thought that 1 x Pencil bean & 1 x spread beam was the best combination to go for but the dealer I have been talking to reckons that it's a waste of time/money to just have one of each. He reckons that havving two spread beams is the best way to go for the majority of 4wd conditions.

Can anyone give their opinions/experiences and set-ups please?

    Thanks,
    Chantrys

Depends on how fast you drive and what sort of driving you intend to do.
Long country trips, 1 pencil or both pencil works well.
Mainly Slow bush stuff, Spread beams are best IMHO
One thing for sure though, you will never outdrive the range of your lights in a Defender.

In a up close to the big trees type driving cituation you need a good spread of light.

on the high way you need good distance, still with a bit of spread.

I have two pencil beams as my main spots, but 4 rectangle spread beams to make sure I can get a good spread.

Everyone is differant but, each to their own I say.

Took me a few goes to get the combination right.
