TD5 air filters
Hi All
I was talking to a guy from Unifilter (who now also look after Finer Filter) and he said that they do not make a foam/oil filter for the TD5 because LR have two different sizes of air box?
Is anyone aware of this? Does the Disco have a different air box to that of the Defender? Either way, I cannot really see it as a reason not to make a filter for the TD5...
I was also interested in people's views on using foam/oil filters as I have heard some people say that they can upset airflow sensors should they be over oiled. I heard on another forum that Nissan reckon they void the warranty on their 3.0 Litre TD.
Thanks

The air intake on the Disco is in the left guard and the air box is also on the left. In the Defender, the air intake is from the right guard and has a different designed air box, hence the different size.
As you say, though, that is no excuse for not making one. After all, everyone elses models has different air filters (mostly) in their range, even if they do use the same engine. Its like saying they don't make a filter for a Falcon because it is different to a Laser! Sounds like a cop out to me.
