    Rover 3.5 Rebuilds / bore stroke ?

    Hey guys,

    My father and I are building up an old Rangie 76, Atm we have no motor in it though we do have an old tired 3.5.. We are looking to have it either rebuilt including a bore and stroke to 4.2 or 4.4 ? or exchange it for an already rebuild engine.

    Any ideas as to who we should contact about building us a motor ?

    We are in Sydney.

    I'm sure someone can mention a good machine shop in Syd. I can't think of any at the moment but they'd all be speed houses anyway.

    Word of warning, if you're thinking about buying an exchange motor, for your own sake do not buy anything from Better Built Engines. In two words, they aren't.

    I know of a few places around Hornsby and Brookvale that do all the head work / crank grinding / reboring.

    Murray Sanderson at Jag and Rover spares in Brisbane imports Low km Disco's and rangies from Japan to wreck, He often has really low Km 3.9,4.0 and 4.6 engines This may be an option for you to consider and would probably work out cheaper than building a stroker.
