    Transmission cooler

Have found that my trany cooler hoses are starting to leak so thought I would take the opportunity to replace the std one with a larger aftermarket one. How has every got theirs set up? Is there a minimum or maximum capacity or size to look out for? Are the brown Davis ones at super crap ok?

Topic has been covered lots of times before, so a search should turn up plenty of good info.
IIRC the cooler operates at higher pressure than other brands, so generic coolers may not be appropriate. I could be dreaming, but think there was also something about the direction of flow through the cooler depending on the gear engaged.
P38 cooler has been a common, easy upgrade in the past, but its been a while since I've had an auto in a landy so might be better options now.

I bought a TD5 Auto cooler off eBay, it is twice the size of the standard 300TDi Auto cooler, have to fiddle with the connections to the hoses and mountings though, will post a pic, Regards Frank

Have a look at this thread.

I have been using the PWR cooler, mounted in front of the radiator for a couple of years and has been good for towing etc. No issues with pressure or leaking from using barbed connections. Automatic Transmission OIL Cooler H Duty 1 2 " Barbs | eBay

    X2

I think the high pressure is an internal thing,,
otherwise wouldnt it blow a hole in the bottom of the tranny sump?
