Ive been running Cooper STs for about 20k now and they are great, suprisingly quite on road for what is actually a quite aggressive tyre. I've never tried STT or M/T but from what I hear they are a lot more noisey and more prone to punctures.
I defo prefer Cooper STs to the BFT AT that were on my truck when I bought it.

That would ride pretty hard. My Defender with 40psi pressures probably rides more comfortably than your Rangie !
Tyre life may be longer (and I may be wrong) but surely those pressures would mean reduced grip esp on wet roads ???

What are the Cooper STs like in the sand?
We had Kumho powerguard somethings and they were not a bad all round tyre.

Now have BFG AT KO on the 80 RR, which again are a very good all purpose tyre. Fairly good in all conditions (except mud).
I've got Wrangler AT on the 79 which are absolute crap on wet tar, and just OK on rough trails. Not sure about sand.
I want to replace all the Wranglers as 2 are worn out, and I'm not overly happy with them.
Was thinking of Cooper ST or maybe going back to the Kumho, but I still want a tyre that is OK on Stockton Beach.
The Kumho looks more like the Cooper STT. Both are fairly aggresive
I'd appreciate opinions, good/bad.
Size is 31x10.5x15, so airing down makes a large footprint.

Dad changed the tyres last week and he got 102000 K's on them. One was stuffed but the other three would make okay trailer tyres. He got the same ones again and noticed ride comfort was heaps better. He even got them for same price as last year $250.

Yeah,
Dad is one of those blokes who gets payed to travel in his Disco. He installs satelite equipment at remote places and gets to see plenty of the country. I think he his getting close to 400,000 on the clock and still going strong(with the usual landrover problems). Mind you he got over 1,000,000 out of his old HZ holden before he pensioned that off. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img] We are heading up to Darwin for Christmas so that will rack up another 10,000 .
