    300Tdi Power Steering Pump

Is there a reliable 300Tdi power steering pump available? I have just had third failure in 250000 or so kms. Belt Tensioner, pulleys etc are in perfect condition. Each failure caused by power steering pump bearings seizing. Any suggestions?

Looks like there are locally available 3 pump alternatives (with approx pricing)
    Genuine Part @$420
    ZF @$265
    Aftermarket @$195
The last one I installed was a ZF, and it was 4 years ago, and still behaving itself.

The original pump lasted about 200000ks, the ones that have failed have all been ZFs.

Michael how many ks has the replacement ZF done? My RR with the 300Tdi does 50000+ks a year

Have you fitted the right size belt?,there's two different sizes for the Tdi and fitting the shorter one will cause this problem. Pat

I changed to a 1600mm belt,I think it has gone along way in helping my water pump,P/S pump, fan bearing and idler last as long as they have. Pat

Less tension on everything, still drives perfectly but less weight on all the bearings. Pat
