Re-charging a dead flat deep cycle battery

I have been given 2 130amp deep cycle batteries. They are ex mobile traffic lights, were only used for a month.During storage in the shed a fault in the electronics lead to the batteries going flat, currently showing 0.6V.
I tried my 25amp Ctek on both of them, neither will alow the charger to commence charging. The chargers at work and its solar panel system wouldnt charge them either.
I have now tried to get some power into one by using the supply voltage(13.6V) on the Ctek.
Is it likely that these batteries are stuffed???

The battery is too flat for the charger to recognise it. Use jumper leads to a charged battery, that should start the charger going.

    Thanks Dylan.
Will the supply voltage be OK on the CTek to lift the charge???
About to go and check it,its been on supply for 10mins.

Will be fine, might take a couple of hours to lift the voltage.
    Wouldn't leave it overnight tho.
Will just act as an old style charger.

Another trick to try to bring back exceptionally low batteries is to get a solar panel, with NO REG and connect it directly to each battery and leave it for a few days.

This is actually much kinder on the battery.

Nope, its a 25amp unit.Has a heat sensor on the posative lead to prevent overheating of the battery and the charger is self regulating.

If you're not in a hurry, and if your charger’s output current can be reduced, for the first charge, charge them at a lower lower current.

Low current charging is always better for any battery, whether it’s got a charge or flat like yours.

    Thanks Tim.
I have it on re-con,will change it to normal as re-con does have a overcharge cycle to de-sulphide the plates.
