Mad man vnt kit any good?

MadMan - MadMan - VTDI Turbo Upgrade Kit (VNT). These things any good hopeing to hear from folks who have fitted one. Some impressive claims on the off idle torque increase that's what I'm after.

Matt, hopefully I'll have a crack at a compound setup eventually using an MHI TD04-11G for the 'small' turbo and I'm not sure what for the larger one, but just have too much on the go ATM.

I think It'll give better bottom end than the VNT and a better spread right across the range.

It's that bottom end I'm after rick I just find it lacking and I'm going to low second where any other vehicle would lug along in first high just fine my mates qd32 navara leaves its for dead in the low down torque stakes

That's the big difference between Serg's 2.8 and my Tdi but once the Tdi is spooled up there's bugger all in it.

I've got a (possibly slightly) easier plan for compounding the original turbo with a T28.
It should deliver 15psi by 1500rpm, could deliver 30psi by 2000rpm) with far better boost capacity and altitude compensation than a VNT. But I'm not hearing good things about the torque converter fitted to the automatic 300tdi and I need to order a new head first.

IMO compond should always outperform VNT. VNT is of course cheaper and more compact for OEM's. It also gives more control over EGR flow and emissions control.
But our goals are somewhat different.

Got a compressor map for the 11G? I was going to overlay it on the compound calcs I've got, but I can't find one.

I've never been able to find one.

There's a hill climb car floating around with a Ford cossi engine with the turbo powered by a turbo shaft engine starter APU,the APU runs the turbo independant of the motor so it has full boost at any time,20 Psi from idle would solve any lag issue's. Pat
