Warn high mount on Discovery?
Is anyone running a Warn highmount winch in front of their Discovery using an ARB bar?
ARB do not list it as being compatible with the Discovery bar, but they also say that about the Rangie bar and I have a high mount in this!!
Also, will having a highmount in front of the intercooler cause any heat issues or at least reduce its effectiveness?
TIA.

G'day TuffRR,
You're right about ARB not having a Disco winch bar to fit a high mount. I have seen a low mount bar modified for the high mout though.
However, what I did with my Tdi was use a classic Range Rover ARB winch bar (it bolts straight on). The down side in one way is you have to remove the grill, or do what I did & get a second hand grill & cut it to the shape of the winch. the up side is because it is mounted further back, you get a better approach angle than the Discovery bar.
I don't have air bags so it was a fairly simple job.
We went across the Simpson and had no problems re: heating and performance.
If you already have the RR bar, you're half way there!
Larry.

Not able to say for a Disco but I'm running a hi-mount in a modified ARB bar on the defender.

Well its kind of a moot point now. I ended up getting an airbag compatible bar on the weekend (i have a non-airbag disco) but couldnt resist given its price.
Larry, it's interesting you say that the RR bar fits. I had been told by Rangie Automotive that the RR bar didnt fit, but i think they were just wanting to sell me a bar of their own!
