You could try contacting Pilkington the glass manufacturer
The Numbers relate to the Standard to which the screen complies & the Colour of the glass. The E indicates a compliance with a European Standard
Does anyone know what the 43R-xxxxxx & Mxxx numbers on a windscreen mean? Google has not been any help
I need a replacement screen (D2a) which has a factory Optikool screen, 43R-001588 & M1260 The insurance company are currently saying they will only pay for a screen that meets Australian Standards, which has 43R-001563 & M858 on it, I saw the actual screen today.
When I booked it in the fitter assured me the replacement screen will have the correct tint and heat reflective properties of the Optikool.
Took it in today only to be told by a different fitter that they need to check the top trim to see if they can reuse itRAVE states a new top finisher must be used! After having a look he confirmed a new finisher will be needed, but they need to get authorisation from my ins. company. So I asked him if the replacement screen meets the same heat reflective spec as the Optikool, he didn't say yes or no but I think this was a diplomatic way of saying no.
So while I wait for the top finisher to be ordered I want some proper evidence that the screen they want to fit doesn't meet Land Rover/Optikool specs.
No idea if this is in the correct section![]()

IMHO, you should insist on OEM screen and new top finisher. The fit of most aftermarket screens is not that flash.
